There is no motorised transportation on the Gili Islands. Although the islands are small there is lots to explore and hiring a bicycle is the perfect way to see the island, and bring back those childhood memories, when was the last time you hopped on a bike!
With no cars to worry about, and plenty of quiet tracks to explore, Gili Trawangan is a great place to go horse riding. STUD Horse Riding Adventures, are the best and safest horse riding adventures on Gili Trawangan for a sunrise or sunset ride on the beach. With experienced Western management, imported equipment and well-cared for horses you are guaranteed a wonderful time.
Situated in Lombok, the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club is an 18-hole championship course. There are spectacular views of Mount Rinjani from some holes, and the Gili Islands from the others. The staff at Scallywags can arrange for transportation from the islands to the golf course.

Both Gili Trawangan and Gili Air boast amazing snorkelling. You can often see sleeping turtles not far from shore. Masks, snorkel and fins are available from Scallywags Dive Shop, located within the resort on Gili Trawangan and The Beach Club on Gili Air. Why not grab your snorkel gear and a bike and head off around the island.
Whether it is your first time and want to learn to blow bubbles underwater, or you are a seasoned scuba diver, Indonesia is the perfect place to dive. With crystal clear warm water.
We know that surfers don’t like to give away the secrets of where the surf spots are, but we will let you in on a little secret. Gili Trawangan has waves! It is a fast right-hander, and it can really pump when the conditions are right. It is a reef break, so booties can come in handy. Surfboards can be rented just in front of the break.
Maybe being in the water is not your thing and you prefer to view the crystal clear blue waters on it, from above, why not grab a Stand Up Paddleboard or clear bottom kayak and enjoy a leisurely punt. Gili Air is one of the most idyllic SUP spots with the views over Lombok and the volcano Mount Rinjani in the background. No need to book in advance our Stand Up Paddle-boards and kayaks can be rented through our Scallywags Dive Crew daily from the front of The Beach Club.
